Founded in 1994 by Bob Million, the company established its headquarters in Newport Beach, California, with a manufacturing facility in Taiwan. The name “McKinna” was inspired by Million’s daughter’s pet rabbit.
Initially, McKinna Yachts offered two models: the 48′ and 57′ Pilothouse. These early successes on the West Coast led to rapid growth, expanding the company’s offerings to over seven different models ranging from 43′ to 87′, including sedan, express cruiser, and pilothouse designs . The company emphasized semi-custom builds, allowing clients to personalize their yachts to their preferences.
In 2000, McKinna introduced the 57′ Pilothouse model, which featured a spacious interior layout with three staterooms and two full heads. The design incorporated a triple-chine hull by renowned naval architect Howard Apollonio, providing enhanced stability and performance.
The company’s commitment to quality and customer satisfaction contributed to its reputation as a premier builder of luxury motor yachts. McKinna Yachts’ vessels are known for their elegant exterior styling, ergonomic interiors designed by Juan Carlos Espinosa, and advanced technology integration.
Today, McKinna Yachts continues to operate from its headquarters in Palm Beach, Florida, with a dealer network representing new McKinna yachts and handling both power and sail brokerage vessels. The company remains dedicated to delivering superior cruising experiences through meticulous attention to detail and a passion for excellence.
