Duratech History

“Boats that look like boats” was the byline of Duratech’s 1958 advertising. This company did not go in for the tailfins and other radical styling. This changed in 1959 when a division of Duratech Mfg. Corp., Duratech Fiberglass Boat Company, also of Peekskill, New York, produced and distributed Glass Magic Boats in the Northeast through a contract with Glass Magic, Inc. of Fort Worth, Texas. The Glass Magic-designed models had wild tailfins and less traditional nautical styling.
