Carver Yacht History
Carver Yachts has a rich history dating back to 1954 when it was founded by Charles “Charlie” Carter and George Verhagen in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Initially, they built mahogany runabouts, but the company quickly grew and transitioned to fiberglass construction under new ownership in 19631. This shift allowed Carver to expand from a regional builder to an international brand.
Throughout the years, Carver Yachts became known for their innovative designs and high-quality craftsmanship. They produced a wide range of models, from sport cruisers to luxury motor yachts, catering to various boating preferences2. In 2004, Carver introduced the Marquis Yachts line, which included larger motor yachts like the 59 and 65 Motor Yachts.
Unfortunately, Carver Yachts ceased operations on July 30, 2021. Despite this, their legacy in the yachting industry remains significant, with many of their yachts still cherished by boating enthusiasts around the world.
